It's read-a-latte time again! This is my favorite unit to collaborate on: our sixth graders spend a few weeks challenging themselves to read as many books as they can. No rules, no restrictions (other than it can't be a re-read). I love seeing even the non-readers push themselves and search for their mug on my window!

Happy Monday, everyone. I took a break from writin

Happy Monday, everyone. I took a break from writing this weekend and read a book and watched the snow fall and watched so many episodes of Wild Kratts and had three separate tea parties. It was magical. And now I'm finishing up my homework for Tin House's YA Workshop that is somehow already THIS WEEK! I'm so in awe of the work everyone has shared and I can't get wait to meet everyone and learn as much as I can. ✨

I am SO happy with this revision of BLOOD LIKE ROS

I am SO happy with this revision of BLOOD LIKE ROSES. So much of the feedback I received was about world building and slowing down to really immerse us in Lore's world. My first draft of BLR was 58k. My second was 86. Third? 81. This one is getting bigger by the day: I just hit the midpoint at 49.8k. I'll probably have to do some trimming when all is said and done but I'm very, very pleased. The pacing feels better, my characters are deeper, and the magic and mythology are more fleshed out.
